Drilling Specifications

Drilling service is restricted to two-finger/no-thumb styles. We do not do drilling for thumb-in bowlers.

 

Specifications for pitches, PAP, and layout may be entered directly per order. Customers may also store these specifications to their account profiles for convenience and to ensure consistency from order to order.

Hole Diameters

Fingerholes are drilled in 31/32" or 1 1/32" diameters for standard or vacuum inserts.

We do not drill for bowlers who do not use finger inserts.

2LS Limitations

Storm's 2LS system is designed for use in 1/4" increments and the Storm Arc Ruler is built with such increments tooled into it. Nevertheless, we do try to accommodate requests for split-step increments of 1/8" for Pin-PAP, PSA-PAP, and Pin-COG specifications.

Drilling Depth

Vacuum Drilling: 1 1/32" top (1" depth) transitioning to 31/32" for an additional 0.9" (.9") for a 1.9" total depth.

Standard Drilling: The entire 1.9" depth is maintained at a 31/32" diameter.

Grip Trimming

All finger inserts are trimmed flush to the ball surface upon completion.

Bridge Width

Standard 1/4" bridge utilized for all ball layouts unless otherwise specified. Your bridge width will be drilled to within a 1/32" tolerance of specifications.

Surface Specification

We accommodate requests for surface adjustments including medium and high polishes should you suspect an out-of-box finish will not suit your needs.
